Maybe I misunderstood but it involves a complexity. If Israel should be prevented from killing militant Hamas Palestinians or collateral damage civilian Palestinians in Gaza by world leaders then likewise, Hamas Palestinians should be prevented from killing 1,300 Israelis in Israel. And just as you mention Dalits would be next eliminated after Muslims then Palestinians would go after Christians. We are all lessened and headed towards extinction if even on ethnic or religious group in any country is erased or eliminated. Hope you are able to do another post before the end of the week. The more posts you do, the more people you should reach.

True. I agree it is complex. I also know that Netanyahu propped up and funded Hamas. The Nakba should not have happened. Neither the Balfour Declaration. Its very complex, and very simple.

People are people until we stop seeing them as people.

Hamas has also been helped by the UN who sent in about 600 trucks worth of emergency food inside Gaza and then meekly obeyed when Hamas told them they not to distribute it. They have admitted the "militants" (Hamas) have attacked the trucks and stolen the food with only about 10% getting through. I will need to research the Nakba and the Balfour Declaration.

But my point remains: be it Hamas, IDF, Trump, Zelensky, Putin or whomsoever- who suffers?

Not the politicians.

Rajiv,

Thanks for another excellent podcast. I don't agree with all you've said but most of it. I just believe that the attempted erasure or ethnic cleansing of any ethnic or religious group of people in any country should not be supported by the rest of society for the reasons you have given. In India, the hindutva could never erase all the Muslims. Salman Khan was once asked if he was Hindu or Muslim and I think he said he wasn't sure. Because he has a huge family and one or the other Auntie married a Muslim over time and this goes way back. Many Indians to this day have relatives in Pakistan. Just last night Kapil Sharma mentioned Happy Indian Independence Day on the previous day, which was August 15th. He made some standup jokes ridiculing Hindutva hatred of Muslims and why not. Practically all of India watches his show and he emphasizes how all India sticks together no matter their ethnic or religious or caste identity. I have a Hindu friend who doesn't like Kapil Sharma and criticized his apologizing for a remark he shouldn't have said. But he said his wife loves the show. On this day after Indian Independence Day, Kapil asked one of the young lovelies on the show what country they were from and one of them said she was from England and quickly said she was sorry. The audience laughed but surely got the point. And she may be one of only a handful of English persons who have ever said sorry. It would be great if the King of England could say sorry and give the Kohinoor diamond back to India (although they would have to unseat it from where it sits in the Queen Mother's crown). Hope you receive more feedback on this podcast post. Your posts get everyone who reads or hears them looking at and thinking about India.

Thanks for the comments. But tell me: which part do you disagree with? I am keen to know! Saying ‘sorry’ is very hard for many people. Let’s see if I have the time to get another podcast out next Sunday. I hope!

Yes, totally agree the politicians are never hurt by any of this. It's always regular people who suffer most.
