Love how this cuts straight to the core issue. The truism "be a better human first" is something I've seen play out in street photography constantly where the best shots come from genuine connection not technical prowess. Had a mentor once who took incredible portraits in Mumbai, and his secret wasnt gear or lighting but just actaully respecting and seeing people as equals. That core humanity shows up in everyframe.
Many thanks. Yes. I understand what you mean, and I may write about this topic later. But when I started my street photography years back in Bombay, I did not treat people with respect. A chance conversation changed my approach to photography.
